Less, but better

Less is more, you might see these three words floating around on twitter. It is a trend that minimalist embrace but sometimes the trend loses it’s true meaning because people just follow blindly. It’s very similar to Facebook’s motto “Move Fast, Break Things”, yes a startup should move fast, but that does not mean the startup need to ship a bad product.

“Less is more” doesn’t mean only having less features to a product, or bringing less stuff on a trip, or bathing twice a week in a tropical country. It’s about having the essentials.

I’m guilty of this and I make many of these mistakes. This is a reminder to myself to go for Less, but better.

Less, but better – because it concentrates on the essential aspects, and the products are not burdened with non-essentials.
