A street shot

In your wide shot, also think about its basic components: a foreground and a background. The foreground is the part of your scene that’s nearest to the viewer, and where you can place a subject or focal point of your picture.

Note to self: take note of foreground, background and the subject.

the street of Singapore at night, no cars

This photo was taken along the street of Dairy Farm Road, Singapore. Taking the tips from #photo101, I went up to a higher level and took a photo to the street top down.

The background here are the dark patch of trees and the brightly lighted HDB flats.

The foreground subject here is the street itself. The color contrast and the empty road.
