If you have been watching the YC “How to start a startup”, you might notice that the “consensus” towards starting a successful startup has nothing to do with Luck but everything to do with Hardwork. I do not denied this, starting up is hard work. I read Ben Horowitz’s The Hard Thing About Hard Things and I agreed with every part of it.
However , have you ever consider that Luck might just play a part? Meaning to say try as many things as possible because you do not know which might turn out to be the right Lucky one. Than again, if you are trying out many different things, how you can be focus on one? Maybe the one project that you have been working on just need that little push for it succeed and you gave up just before? Or maybe you have that one project that you think so little about it but it got tweet by a journalist and BANG!1, lots of traffic starts streaming in.
Personally, I struggle with this. How do you know when to give up on certain project and when is many project too many? This video by Darius Kazemi2 shares his thoughts on trying out different things because you do not know what you do not know.
